Cookie policy

The short version
This website does not put any cookies on your device. There are none for analytics, none for advertising and none for tracking, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner. Two things to know about: if you play a video, YouTube may set cookies of its own, and if you use the live chat, your browser remembers your chat until you close the tab.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise that browser again later. Websites can also keep information in your browser in other ways, such as "local storage". This policy covers all of these.
Cookies set by this site
Visitors get no cookies. Unless you use live chat, the site keeps nothing else in your browser either.
If you send a message in the live chat box, your browser keeps one item so that replies can reach you as you move between pages. It is created only when you send your first chat message, which makes it strictly necessary for something you have asked for:
| Name | Where | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ap-chat | Session storage | A random number that identifies your chat. It holds nothing about you. | Until you close the tab, or the chat is ended |
There is one cookie in the whole site, and it is only ever given to the site's owner when logging in to the private admin area:
| Name | Who gets it | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ap_admin | Only the site owner, after logging in | Keeps the owner logged in to the admin area. Strictly necessary for that area to work. | Until the browser is closed |
How visits are counted without cookies
The site counts its visitors, but it does so on the server and stores nothing on your device to do it. The privacy policy explains exactly what is recorded.
YouTube
The videos on this site are played by YouTube, using its privacy-enhanced mode (the player comes from youtube-nocookie.com). Google says that in this mode YouTube does not store information about you unless you play the video.
When you press play, YouTube may set cookies or use similar storage in your browser. YouTube uses these to play the video, remember settings such as volume, count views and guard against misuse. They are set by Google, not by this site, and this site cannot read them. How Google uses them is described in Google's privacy policy.
If you would rather not have them, do not press play here. Links marked "Open on YouTube" or "Subscribe" take you to youtube.com, where YouTube asks for your own cookie choices.
Share buttons
The share buttons are plain links. They set no cookies and load nothing from the social platforms. If you click one, you go to that platform, which has its own cookies.
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under its privacy or security settings. Blocking them will not stop this site from working, although YouTube videos may not play.
